Wahrscheinlich aus Deutschland stammend. Seine Geigen sind recht sauber gemacht. Er brachte seinen Brandstempel mit Monogramm zwischen den F-Löchern unter dem Steg an. Er erfand auch ein »Guitarrebasson« genanntes Instrument. Eine gute Violine von ihm besitzt Masson in Paris.
