Wahrscheinlich aus Mittenwald, wofür auch seine Geigen sprechen, die ganz den Stil der Klotz-Schule aufweisen. Die Decke ist meist von sehr gutem Holz, der Lack rothgelb und der Ton ansprechend. Er war in Passau bischöflicher Hof-Lauten- und Geigenmacher und hat auch eine Zeit lang in Salzburg gearbeitet. Eine Geige von ihm besitzt das städt. Museum Caroline-Augusteum in Salzburg.
