Initially a guitar maker in Mirecourt. Moved to Bordeaux c.1825 to take over the business of one Lutzemberger and thereafter known as Nicolas de Bordeaux. VAILLANT, Nicolas Born 1808 Mirecourt, died 1887 Bordeaux France. Initially a guitar maker in Mirecourt. Moved to Bordeaux c.1825 to take over the business of one Lutzemberger and thereafter known as Nicolas de Bordeaux. Violins and cellos with his label almost certainly made in commercial workshops in Mirecourt. His shop was taken over by A. Delannoy in 1880. Large model with red varnish.
Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Auch Nicolas de Bordeaux genannt. Er arbeitete sehr gut, hatte aber ein plumpes, grosses Patron bei seinen Geigen. Die Schnecke ist dagegen sehr schön ausgestochen, sein rother Lack durchsichtig und dick. Seine Violoncelli sind seinen Violinen gleichwerthig.
Henri Poidras+
Predecessor of Delanoy. Originally from Mirecourt. A guitar maker who specialized in repairs, he came to Bordeaux towards 1824 and died there in 1887. Violins attributed to him were not actually of his making.
