b. about 1768. A maker at Mirecourt, who made instruments at very cheap prices for the trade; in 1823 he was awarded a silver medal for a very satisfactory violin, which was priced 25 francs (£1).
J. B. Vuillaume entered his workshop in 1821, and 1825-28 was in partnership with him. He married the daughter of Pique, the violin maker; his son, Nicolas Antoine, b. March 29, 1793, Mirecourt, became an organ builder.

Er stammte aus Mirecourt, war der Schwiegersohn von Pique und machte
Geigen zu billigsten Preisen für den Handel. Später verlegte er sich mehr auf
den Orgelbau. Von 1825—1828 war J. B. Vuillaume sein Geschäftstheilhaber.
Für eine Geige, die im Verhältniss zu ihrem Preise von 25 Frcs. recht
gut war, erhielt er 1823 eine silberne Medaille.
