NEBEKER, John H. Born 1948, died 1985 Salt Lake City, Utah USA. Bow maker and violin repairer. Worked for Pearce Music as a violin repairer 1969 and from 1970 for Peter Prier. Began making bows in 1976. Moved to Miami, Florida 1978 to work for Harry Duffy. Later worked for Don Eckland in Dallas, Texas. Established independently in Phoenix, Arizona for a brief period, returning to Salt Lake City 1985. About 100 bows on English and French models with round sticks. Certificates awarded at the Violin Society of America competition 1978. Engraved silver plate on best bows: ‘J. H. Nebeker’. Branded: J. H. NEBEKER [Wenberg]
