BENTIN, Henry Born 1857 Naklo, Poland, died 1928 New Orleans USA. Violin and bow maker. Taught by his father and emigrated with him to Iowa. Established own workshop in St. Louis 1889, moving to New Orleans 1896. Assisted by his sons there. Stradivari or Amati model. Shaded red-yellow varnish. Conscientious work. Made a copy of the Stradivari ‘Emperor’ violin for Jan Kubelik. H. Bentin / New Orleans. F.A. 1920
