BROOKS, Carroll Born 1895 Chester, Indiana, d. after 1982 Vancouver, Washington USA. Farmer until retirement in 1959. Took up violin making in 1956 in Battle Ground, Washington. Later worked in Tillamook, Oregon and finally settled in Vancouver, Washington from 1982. Personal model, using many different varieties of local and exotic woods. Over 150 instruments, including one double bass. [Wenberg]
