John Dilworth
EINSELE, George Nicholas Born 1868 Chicago, Illinois, died 1940 Brunswick, Indiana USA. Employed by William Lewis & Son in Chicago for whom he made about 70 instruments 1912-1914. Returned to Brunswick c.1915. Shop later known as ‘Perfection Musical String Co.’. Continued to sell instruments through Lewis in Chicago. Good work, generally on Guarneri model. Some Stradivari and Amati models. Antique shaded varnish of his own making but much of the finishing done by his assistant Tetto Gallo. Over 750 instruments labelled by him, many of which were made in the white by Ferdinando Garimberti in Milan. Made by / William Lewis & Son / Chicago, Ill. Anno 19.. / Geo.
