Son, pupil, and successor of Antonio Guadagnini, above. Last of the Guadagnini dynasty. Worked with his brother Giuseppe, below, who chiefly made guitars. From 1895-1897 in Rome, but re-established in Turin. Variable work: generally imitations of Giovanni Battista, many bought in from Mirecourt or m\u{2026} — John Dilworth

GUADAGNINI, Francesco Born 1863, died 1948 Turin Italy. Son, pupil, and successor of Antonio Guadagnini, above. Last of the Guadagnini dynasty. Worked with his brother Giuseppe, below, who chiefly made guitars. From 1895-1897 in Rome, but re-established in Turin. Variable work: generally imitations of Giovanni Battista, many bought in from Mirecourt or made with the assistance of outworkers; E. Guerra may have been responsible for much later work. Forced into retirement after the workshop was bombed during World War II. Exhibited a violin and quartet in Cremona 1937. Various awards and diplomas at Turin 1884 and 1911, Antwerp 1885, and Vienna 1892.
