KOK, Johan Warnaar Born 1819, died 1889 Amsterdam Netherlands Pupil of L. Bernardel in Amsterdam c.1836 with his brother Gerrit Kok, below. Possibly also taught by J. J. Grandjon. Established as Kok Brothers in Sint Janstraat, Amsterdam 1848. Continued the business of J. B. Lefebvre from 1857. Schüler von Helms und L. Bernardel in Amsterdam. Gründete mit seinem Bruder Gerrit K. am 6. März 1848 die Firma Gebr. Kok; hauptsächlich Repararateure und Händler; die Bruder dürften im Laufe der Jahre nur 50 bis 60 Geigen gebaut haben, die aber sehr gelobt werden.
