Initially with dark varnish which has subsequently turned black, in his Viennese period this became gradually lighter and achieved a fine clear golden-brown colour. Wahrscheinlich ein Sohn des Joh. G. L. in Pressburg. In den Wiener
Bürgerbüchern heisst es von ihm: »Leeb, Andre, Lauten- und Geigenmacher,
neues Gewerb (d. h. neubegründetes Geschäft) auf der Hohen Bruck im Baaderischen
Hauss, Bürgereid abgelegt am 18. November 1784«. In den Steuerlisten
kommt er 1785 bis 1787 vor. Am besten sind seine nach Amati gemachten
Violinen. Eine von ihm im Jahre 1796 reparirte Stainergeige befindet sich in der
fürstlich Lobkowitz’schen Sammlung zu Raudnitz und aus demselben Jahre eine Geige mit der Brandmarke auf dem Boden A. L.
