LINAROL, Francesco Born circa. 1516 Bergamo, Worked circa. 1520-1563 Venice Italy. Fine six-string viol in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. Distinctive head (flat-sided with incised volute and triple flute around the pegbox) and front made from flat board with the arch provided by shaped transverse bars on the interior.
