Turin, 1866–1935
Pupil of Gioffredo-Rinaldi from c.1879. Worked in London for F. W. Chanot 1889-1891. Established independently in Turin from 1892. ODDONE, Carlo Giuseppe Born 1866, died 1935 Turin Italy. Pupil of Gioffredo-Rinaldi from c.1879. Worked in London for F. W. Chanot 1889-1891. Established independently in Turin from 1892. Stradivari and Guarneri models; later made copies of Rocca and introduced a personal pattern. One of the finest and most prolific Italian makers of his generation. Exceptional work and materials with deep red or golden-orange varnish. Finely carved and concentrically balanced scroll. Long elegant corners to body. Schüler von Rinaldi, bei dem er von 1889—1899 arbeitete, und von
