Da er als Geigenmacher sein Auskommen nicht fand, wurde er — Theaterdiener. Er war nicht ungeschickt und als Reparateur vielbeschäftigt. Seine neuen Geigen sind freilich nur mittelmässig, doch erfreute er sich als Bogenmacher eines besonderen Rufs. Ein Schramm’scher Bogen wurde mit einem Dukaten bezahlt.
